Meet the OTC Marketing Awards Judges
The OTC Marketing Awards consist of two different type of Awards, ‘Principal Awards’, and ‘Entered Awards’,
Principal Awards - There is no entry fee for the six principal awards. You simply need to submit the name of the brand, company or team along with a 500 word synopsis of why they deserve to win the Award. No other supporting information or samples are required. OTC companies or OTC retailers should simply submit their entry via the online entry system.
Entered Awards - there is a fee to enter these categories (£99+VAT)* and entrants are required to submit a full entry along with supporting materials.
* There is no fee to enter the special 2021 Award: Best COVID-19 initiative by an OTC Company.
There are four different judging panels: Super Retail, Industry Executive, Grocery Retail, Expert.
In all instances, results from the judges for each Award are combined to determine any highly-commended candidates, runners-up and, of course, the winner.
Super Retail Panel
The Super Retail Panel of judges was drawn from multiple and independent retailers and drew upon their experiences in retail. Panel members were presented with a shortlist of contenders drawn up by HBW Insight and C+D.
There are 12 judges on this panel and all of the judges review 5 of the Principal categories which are:

Industry Executive Panel
The Industry Executive Panel was drawn from executives in the UK OTC industry. Judges on the panel were presented with a shortlist of 10 multiple retailers drawn up by HBW Insight and C+D and judged the entries based on their experience during 2020.
There are 12 judges on this panel and all of the judges review the following categories, which is a principal Award:
- Best OTC Multiple Retailer of the Year
Grocery Retail Panel
The Grocery Retail Panel consists of a number of experienced representatives of the grocery sector. They were presented with a shortlist of general-sale brands drawn up by HBW Insight and C+D.
There are 4 judges on this panel and all of the judges review the following categories, which is a principal Award:
- Best OTC Performer Outside Pharmacy
Expert Judging Panel
The Expert Judging Panel was drawn from independent experts’ experience in the disciplines involved and/or knowledge about the OTC market. For each Award, six judges on the panel were presented with entries submitted by companies and/or their agencies.
There are 40 judges on this panel. 6 Judges review each category. This panel judge these ‘Entered’ categories:
