Female breast cancer is the second most common cancer worldwide in terms of new cases and the leading cause of cancer death in women, according to the Global Cancer Observatory [1]. In women, the number of worldwide cases is predicted to rise from ~2.1 million in 2018 to ~ 3.1 million in 2040, an increase of ~46% [2]. In honor of the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium [3], which convenes from December 4-8, 2018, Citeline's oncology team analyzed breast cancer trends from 2008 to 2017 using Trialtrove®.
